PLANT PROTEIN · ILLUSTRATION, NOT A LOT PHOTOGRAPH

Pea dregs are the wet residue left after starch and protein are extracted from field peas. They carry residual protein, fibre and some starch, and they are used close to the processing plant because moisture makes them expensive to move far.

Dried grades travel and store far better and are what we normally quote for export. Tell us whether you are formulating against the wet or dried material, because the two are different products in every respect that matters to a ration.

Where it is used

  • Ruminant rations, as a fibre and protein source
  • Swine diets, at moderate inclusion
  • Local feeding close to the processing plant

Formulation note

For export, quote and formulate on the dried grade. Tell us the moisture you need, because wet and dried pea dregs are completely different products for costing and storage.
