About this ingredient
Methionine is the first limiting amino acid in most poultry diets, which means performance is capped by it long before the ration runs short of anything else. Supplementing it directly allows the total crude protein of a diet to be reduced without losing growth, cutting both cost and nitrogen excretion.
It is supplied as DL-methionine, a dry powder, or as the liquid hydroxy analogue. The two are not interchangeable on a weight for weight basis, so specify which form your mill is set up to handle before you compare prices.
