About this ingredient
GABA is an inhibitory neurotransmitter, and in feed it is used chiefly as an anti stress additive. Its most established application is in poultry under heat stress, where it supports feed intake and reduces body temperature rise.
It also has effects on growth hormone secretion and gut motility. Because the response is tied to stress conditions, the benefit is largest in hot climates and around transport and handling rather than in steady state production.
