Anhydrous Glucose
Anhydrous Glucose for animal feed, supplied from audited Chinese mills with a full specification and certificate of analysis on enquiry.
About this ingredient

Anhydrous glucose is dextrose with the water of crystallisation removed, giving a highly concentrated, rapidly absorbed energy source.
In feed it is used where energy has to be immediately available rather than digested: in piglet creep and starter diets, in electrolyte and rehydration formulations, and as a fermentation substrate and carrier in premix manufacture. Because it is hygroscopic, storage conditions matter more than for most dry ingredients.
Where it is used
- Piglet creep and starter diets
- Electrolyte and rehydration products
- Carrier and substrate in premix manufacture
- Calf milk replacer
Formulation note
Treat anhydrous glucose as a functional energy source rather than a bulk cereal replacement. It earns its place where fast absorption matters, in the first weeks after weaning and in rehydration products, and it is usually priced against monohydrate dextrose on a dry matter basis.
Specification on request
We have not published a full specification sheet for this ingredient yet. Send us your tonnage and destination port and we will return the complete specification, a recent certificate of analysis and a delivered price.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between anhydrous glucose and dextrose monohydrate?
Both are glucose. The monohydrate form carries roughly nine percent water of crystallisation, while the anhydrous form has it removed, so it delivers more glucose per kilogram. Compare the two on a dry matter basis before comparing price.
How should anhydrous glucose be stored after delivery?
It is hygroscopic, so keep bags sealed, off the floor and in a dry warehouse. Once it picks up moisture it cakes and becomes difficult to dose, particularly in humid climates.
Which documents come with a shipment?
Each lot ships with a certificate of analysis, commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and certificate of origin. Health or phytosanitary certificates are arranged where your import rules require them.
