About this ingredient
Choline chloride is the standard supplemental source of choline, required for fat transport out of the liver, for cell membrane structure and as a methyl donor. Deficiency shows as fatty liver in layers and as leg problems in fast growing broilers.
It is supplied either as a 60 percent powder on a carrier or as a 70 to 75 percent liquid. The powder is hygroscopic and destructive to vitamins held next to it in a premix, so it is usually added separately rather than blended into a vitamin pack.
