About this ingredient
DMPT, dimethyl-beta-propiothetin, is a compound found naturally in marine algae and is one of the strongest known feeding attractants for fish and shrimp.
It works on chemoreception, drawing animals to the feed quickly and reducing the time pellets sit uneaten in the water. That improves feed conversion and reduces the nutrient load leaching into the pond. It also acts as a methyl donor and osmolyte, which supports tolerance of salinity change.
