About this ingredient
Sunflower meal is the protein fraction left after oil extraction from sunflower seed. It is well liked in ruminant rations for its palatability and its fibre contribution, and it carries a strong methionine profile for a plant protein.
Grades differ mainly by how much hull is left in, which moves both protein and fibre substantially. Dehulled and partially dehulled grades are different products in practice, so specify which one you are formulating against when you enquire.
