About this ingredient

BACTERIAL PROTEIN · ILLUSTRATION, NOT A LOT PHOTOGRAPH

The protein rich residue left after valine is recovered from an amino acid fermentation. Like other fermentation residues it consists largely of bacterial cell mass and spent medium solids, dried for feed.

It is bought on cost per unit of protein rather than as a premium ingredient, and inclusion is normally capped because of nucleic acid and ash content. Confirm the ash and moisture figures on the certificate, since both move with the process.

Where it is used

  • Ruminant rations
  • Swine diets at controlled inclusion
  • Aqua feed
  • Compound feed blending

Formulation note

Buy valine residue protein on cost per unit of protein, and cap inclusion because of nucleic acid and ash. Check moisture and ash on every certificate.
