Yeast Cell Wall
Yeast Cell Wall for animal feed, supplied from audited Chinese mills with a full specification and certificate of analysis on enquiry.
About this ingredient

Yeast cell wall is the outer fraction of Saccharomyces cerevisiae after the cell contents are removed. Its value lies in two components: mannan oligosaccharides, which bind pathogens with mannose specific attachment sites and carry them through the gut, and beta glucans, which stimulate immune response.
It is used at low inclusion as part of a gut health programme rather than as a nutrient. Products differ substantially in how much of each fraction they contain, so compare on mannan and beta glucan content rather than on price per tonne.
Where it is used
- Pathogen binding in poultry and swine
- Immune support in young stock
- Mycotoxin binder programmes
- Aqua feed and shrimp diets
Formulation note
Compare yeast cell wall products on mannan and beta glucan content rather than price per tonne. Use them at low inclusion within gut health and mycotoxin management programmes.

Frequently asked questions
What are MOS and beta glucans?
Mannan oligosaccharides (MOS) bind certain pathogens in the gut, while beta glucans support immune response. Both come from the yeast cell wall.
Is yeast cell wall a mycotoxin binder?
It is used in mycotoxin management programmes, particularly for mycotoxins that clay binders adsorb poorly. Ask for binding data for the mycotoxins you face.
What yeast is used?
Most feed grade yeast cell wall comes from Saccharomyces cerevisiae.
